The Lord's Prayer and the Preces
Our Father. And lead us not. But deliver us.
Let thy mercy come also unto us, O Lord: Even thy salvation, according unto thy word.
Be unto us, O Lord, a tower of strength: From the face of the enemy.
Remember thy congregation: Which thou hast possessed from the beginning.
O Lord, save the kings: And hear us in the day when we call upon thee.
O Lord, save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: And govern them, and lift them up for ever.
Peace be within thy strength: And plenteousness within thy towers.
Let us pray for the faithful departed.
Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord: and let light perpetual shine upon them.
O Lord, hear my prayer: And let my cry come unto thee.
The Lord be with you. And with thy spirit. Let us pray.
The Collects
O God, whose property is ever to have mercy and to spare, receive our petition: that those whom the chain of sins doth bind, the compassion of thy lovingkindness may absolve. Through Christ our Lord.
Then the following prayers, under one Let us pray and one Through the same, according to the use of the church of Hereford. Let us pray.
Almighty and everlasting God, who alone workest great marvels: send down upon thy servants and upon all the congregations committed to them the Spirit of thy saving grace; and that they may please thee in truth, pour upon them the continual dew of thy blessing.
Stretch forth, O Lord, upon thy faithful servants the right hand of heavenly help: that they may seek thee with their whole heart, and obtain what they worthily ask.
O God, from whom all holy desires, all good counsels, and all just works do proceed: give unto thy servants that peace which the world cannot give; that our hearts may be set to obey thy commandments, and that, the fear of our enemies being taken away, our times may be quiet under thy protection.
Crush, we beseech thee, O Lord, the pride of our enemies, and lay it low by the might of thy right hand.
Graciously receive, O Lord, we beseech thee, the prayers of thy Church: that all adversities and errors being destroyed, she may serve thee in untroubled freedom.
Be present, O Lord, at our supplications, and order the way and the doings of thy servants in the prosperity of thy salvation: that among all the changes of this way and of this life they may ever be protected by thy help.
Almighty and everlasting God, the eternal salvation of them that believe, hear us for thy servants and handmaids for whom we implore the help of thy mercy: that their health being restored to them, they may give thanks to thee in thy Church.
Let the prayer of thy suppliants, we beseech thee, O Lord, profit the souls of thy servants and handmaids: that thou mayest both free them from all sins and make them partakers of thy redemption.
O God, who art the wonderful splendour of thy saints and the unspeakable raiser of the fallen: grant that we thy servants may everywhere be guarded by the protection of the holy Mother of God, Mary ever Virgin, and of all thy saints; and to those joined to us by friendship and kindred or by profession, and to all Christian people, drive away all the snares of the deceitful enemy and grant them entrance to return to the heavenly country; and grant to the souls of all the faithful departed, born again in the water of holy baptism, to enjoy everlasting rest. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
